- Procedure in case of heat
A heat usually takes place twice a year, usually in a certain cycle. That can be every 8 months but also every 10 months or even a year. A heat is announced by the dog making small puddles more often, but this does not always have to be the case. The heat starts as soon as blood comes out of the vulva. This can be checked by dabbing the vulva with a tissue in the morning before the 1st round of exhaustion. In case of red or brown discharge, the breeder should be called.
